I’m not sure if ‘piper’ means bagpipes or uilleann pipes or is a poetic term for the flute, but those D-C-A triplets sound like bagpipe music, at least to my ignorant ears. I’ve had a grand time trying to learn this today in any and all cases, so thank you, John.

Perfect! I just got this from my teacher last weekend and while I know I should play as it's written i.e. read the tune, it's way faster to have a reference and thanks for playing at normal mortal speed!!
